Parental Guidance is an innovative approach to positively supporting the biggest influencers in a young person's lives. Parents/ Carers have a responsibility to support their young person as they transition from education to the workplace; this can be difficult, intimidating and confusing.
All guardians want to ensure they can do their best to give their child a fantastic start in life...and their career. The 'Parental Guidance' programme will empower guardians to give their young person the best support in taking their next step after education. Parental Guidance can include:
Demystifying the (ever-changing) qualification and further/ higher education landscape
Knowledge of the local labour market and growth sectors
Support in finding work experience placements and work shadowing opportunities
How to build, maintain and develop a network
Developing understanding of the education careers system and how you can best support your young person
